Risk warning facts

+ New fact

These are the words a player reads in the moment before they sell the car, mortgage the House or borrow from a friend. Every fact has to be true, has to carry a source, and has to be signed off by the clinical reviewer. There is no exception for urgent.

The rule sits in the data layer, not on the button

A fact with no source cannot be saved in a publishable state. A fact without a valid sign-off record is not returned by the player-facing API, even if someone calls it directly. There is no “Publish” button on this page — your button is “Send for review”.

Where players see a fact

An approved fact appears in the risk warning, immediately above the box a player has to tick to sacrifice an asset. Preview with F-022:

The source line shown to players always names the person who signed it off. A fact with no source has nothing to put on that line — which is why it cannot go out.

Two things this page cannot do

  • It cannot restore family assets. F-021 and F-029 sit behind the family-money action, and not even an admin has an undo for it. The ability to restore was left out of the schema and the API.
  • You cannot sign off your own work. You write it, Dr Alice Brennan signs it. If one person did both, the audit trail would mean nothing to the funder.

Editing a live fact sends it back through review from the start — the old version keeps serving players until the new one is signed.

Your button, in every state, is “Send for review”.
