Would you answer five questions about betting outside the app?
A perfectly good answer to that is "no thanks", and it costs you nothing. This page is here to ask, not to persuade.
Four things to know before the first question
- Entirely voluntary. Not answering has no effect on your account, your tokens, your break, or anything else in the app.
- No tokens for taking part. Paying tokens for survey answers would get you answers given to collect the reward, and the data would be worthless the moment we did it.
- Anonymised when saved. Your answers are separated from your account at the point they are written to the database, not later when a report is produced. You can stop before sending; after save there is no individual record that can be exported or withdrawn.
- You can stop part way. Close the tab or press "I'd rather not answer" at any question; anything half-typed is not sent.
What it is used for
Data inside the app only tells us how many lessons you took and how many simulated bets you placed. It cannot answer the question that matters most: does this tool change betting behaviour in real life. The five questions below are our best proxy for that.
Nobody on the project can see an answer attached to a person. Reports for our funder contain group totals only, and a group is only shown once it has at least 10 people in it.
The five questions
1. In the last 30 days, have you bet with real money?
2. Compared with three months ago, how has the amount you bet changed?
3. In the last three months, have you placed another real-money bet to try to recover a loss?
This is chasing losses, one of the four themes in the learning library. The question asks whether the lessons reach past the app.

This field is scanned and anything resembling a phone number or email address is stripped out before it is saved.
Both buttons are the same size and equally prominent on purpose — a decline button that is faded or buried makes "voluntary" a word rather than a fact. Choosing "I'd rather not answer" records your decline and we will not ask again about this set. To turn off survey invitations entirely, go to Profile & privacy → Notifications.
